Wood Badge and other learning
A sync brings in Growing Roots — the compulsory learning everyone has to do — because that is all the membership system publishes. Wood Badge skills and Branching Out modules live in My Learning, a separate system, and have to be imported from there.
On the Sync page, click Import from My Learning. Sign in at learn.scouts.org.uk first, in the same browser — the extension reads your own session there, just as it does for the membership portal. You can also run it from the extension's own popup with Import learning.
This is a separate run from your membership sync, on purpose: being signed out of My Learning can never disturb the sync you actually depend on.
This only covers people you manage for learning in My Learning, which is usually far fewer than your synced hierarchy — so expect a handful of people rather than everyone.
My Learning identifies people by membership number and the membership system doesn't share it, so the first import asks you to confirm who each person is. It suggests a match by name; you confirm it once and every later import is automatic. Anyone who isn't in your synced hierarchy is kept and listed rather than dropped — that is normal for someone in your learning team but not your section.
Additional learning is shown per leader without a red/amber/green badge, unlike the compulsory list. Growing Roots and DBS are things a volunteer must hold; Branching Out is optional, and an unfinished optional module isn't a compliance problem.
Each module shows the month it was completed, where My Learning records it, so you can see who has been learning lately and who has gone quiet. The CSV export has a Latest optional learning column for the same.
The Wood Badge report, linked from the Leaders page, lists everyone in your synced team working towards a Wood Badge: the one they're on, how many of its skills they've met, what's left and their latest skill, nearest to finishing first. Tick Two or fewer to go to see who you could help over the line, and download it as a CSV. Which Wood Badge each person is on comes from My Learning, where they're assigned it; for anyone it can't read, it's guessed from their role and marked “likely”. People in your learning team who aren't in your synced team are listed underneath, to match on the Sync page.
How many people the import brings in depends on your role in My Learning. A Team Leader sees their own team; a Lead Volunteer usually sees far more.
