Permits
Every sync brings in each leader's permits from the membership system: Nights Away, and Adventurous Activities permits such as hillwalking or climbing. Each leader's card shows what they hold, with its category, its type (Supervisory or Leadership) and the date it runs out.
The membership system keeps every permit a leader has ever had, so the card shows only what matters now: the permit they hold, or, if it has lapsed and they have nothing current, the lapsed one, so you can see it. Applications that were rejected, withdrawn or cancelled don't show. Nights Away is granted once per category, so somebody holding several shows them together, for example “Campsite, Greenfield”.
A permit that runs out within three months is shown in amber, and an expired or lapsed one in red, but permits never count towards a leader's red, amber or green status: most leaders don't need one, so not holding one isn't a compliance problem. A restriction on a permit is noted, and you can see it by hovering over it.
Reminders. You're emailed 90 days before a permit runs out, alongside the DBS and training reminders, which come 60 days ahead. Permits get longer because renewing one means arranging an assessment. Each permit is mentioned once, and again only if its date changes.
The CSV export has two Nights Away columns: the categories held and the earliest expiry. If you use Camp Planner, its First camp page can use the on-site permit holder's Nights Away permit from here.
