Your account and two-factor sign-in

You have one account for every Tools for Scouting app, and signing in to one signs you in to them all. Your Account page is the same in every app: use the Account link beside Sign out at the top of any of them.

Your name. Spelt it wrong when you signed up, or go by something shorter? Change it under Your name at the top of your Account page and choose Save. It changes everywhere other leaders see it, in every app. Lists your group keeps about people, such as the trustee board or Leader Compliance's leaders, are separate: change those where they're kept. Anything already recorded under your old name, such as an entry in your group's Activity log, keeps the name it had at the time.

Two-factor authentication is optional. Turn it on under Two-factor authentication on your Account page: choose Set up two-factor authentication, scan the code with an authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy, 1Password and others), and enter the 6-digit code it shows. From then on, signing in asks for a code from the app as well as your password.

It protects your group's data, not only the screens: without the code, your password alone can't read or change anything, however it's used.

Remembered devices. When you enter a code, tick Remember this device for 30 days and that browser won't ask again for 30 days, in any of the apps. To stop that, choose Forget all devices on your Account page: every remembered browser asks for a code the next time you sign in. Somewhere you're already signed in with a code stays signed in until you sign out.

Lost your phone? Sign in on a remembered device and choose Remove beside your authenticator app, then set it up again on the new one. Removing it also forgets your remembered devices.
