Pricing

Every product has a free tier so you can try it with your group before paying anything. Paid plans are billed annually by Direct Debit via GoCardless.

Your group can also try everything free for 30 days — all seven tools with no limits, started by the group owner from your group page. No card, and nothing to cancel: it returns to the free plan at the end, and nothing you set up is ever deleted.

Badge reports are free, all of them: a report for every young person, the section overview and awards to present, and the PDFs, straight from Online Scout Manager. What's paid is parent emails, which send each young person's report to their parents with the PDF attached, and they're in the bundle.

AI risk assessment suggestions are the one thing that needs a paid Camp Planner plan. Everything else in the risk assessment works on the free tier — the standard hazard library, editing, the Word and PDF exports, and the warning that an activity needs a separate assessment from a permit holder. That warning in particular is never behind the paywall.

Collecting camp or hall fees? That's included — there's nothing extra to buy. Connect your own GoCardless account, your own Stripe account, or both, and money goes straight into your own account either way. We take a 1% platform fee from each payment collected, whichever you use — GoCardless and Stripe each charge their own transaction fee on top, separately, which is theirs. Refund a payment and our fee on the refunded part comes back to you. Nothing is deducted from fees you record as paid by cash or bank transfer.

Donations through Fundraising's giving page are different: we take nothing from them at all. A gift goes straight into your group's own GoCardless or Stripe account, and only their own transaction fee applies.

Where your data lives. Everything you put into Tools for Scouting — members, health and consent details, payments — is stored in the United Kingdom, in Supabase's London region. Not just the children's data: all of it. See our privacy notice for the full picture, including the parts that aren't in the UK.

Adding a product part-way through the year? You pay only the difference, and only for the time left until your renewal — so joining four months before it costs a third of the gap, not a whole year. Everything then renews together on the date you already had, on one payment, rather than collecting separate bills on whatever dates you happened to buy on.
